This performance work utilizes three components: performance, digital imaging, and video animation. His performance conjures notions of patriotism, nationality, and identity within an international context. In this work, Matlabi distinguishes the position between global nations and reveals a multi-faceted understanding of international survival.

Afshin Matlabi is a Montreal-based artist who has exhibited his printmedia and installation work extensively across Canada.
