Sam Fox is a performance maker, director, writer and choreographer based in Perth, Western Australia. He is the director of contemporary performance company Hydra Poesis, based at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Arts Studios, and a recipient of the Sidney Myer Creative Fellowship. Sam’s approach to collaborative production encompasses artistic roles as well as organising and facilitation within a range of arts, community and activist contexts. In 2013 Sam co-wrote and directed the international theatre work PROMPTER (premiere ARTSHOUSE, Melbourne), created the Technocultural Bodysuit series for SymbioticA’s Semipermeable exhibition (ISEA, Sydney), facilitated the Dance Journalism action with dancers and activists covering the National Refugee Rights Convergence at the Yongah Hill Detention Centre in regional WA, and undertook creative development on an interdisciplinary libretto for Wikileaks The Ballet and solo work IMAGO STATE with Paul Selwyn Norton.
