True Love is Riding Bikes

Event
Saturday, July 18, 2009 — 1:30pm

In the months of June and July 2009, the Tender Mountain Clan will be actively installing, recording, and mapping street art in the city of Calgary. A bike route will be selected that will guide participants through different sites of artistic expression. The route will circle the downtown core, passing through Hillhurst/Sunnyside, Bridgeland, Inglewood, Victoria Park, the Beltline and Sunalta. Join the TMC for a guided bicycle tour or get a map at Good Life, The New Gallery, TRUCK or here and take yourself on a self-guided bicycle adventure.

Part of programming for M:ST 4.5 and TRUCK Contemporary Art in Calgary's TR:AFICC residency

The Tender Mountain Clan has come together to produce and disseminate gestures of love in Canadian streets and alleyways since 2005. This collaborative group is loose and flexible, and aims to decorate and adorn all that is neglected and forgotten. Through a process of reclaiming space via art installations on telephone poles, the TMC forms personal relationships with the environments they inhabit. They have vowed to push forward with their mission and embrace the beautiful unknown with spontaneity and tender thoughtfulness.
