The Cedar Tavern Singers — Concert

Performance
Friday, October 10, 2008 — 9:00pm
Stride Gallery

Part folk rock band and part tongue-in-cheek art project, The Cedar Tavern Singers deliver a catchy art-ernative musical performance that “wryly conveys the artistic condition, soulfully delivers art history education, and from time to time belts out a well-loved standard.” This dynamic Lethbridge duo takes on important artists and movements with hits like “The Physical Impossibility of Damien Hirst in the Mind of the Living,” “The Theme From the Future of Idea Art (Robert Smithson in the Year Twenty-oh-six),” and “The Relational Aesthetics Song.” Art history that you can tap your toes to!

Mary Ann McTrowe received her MFA from Concordia University in 2001. Daniel Wong received his MFA from the University of Western Ontario, London, in 2006. The two artists united in 2006 to fight the good fight and sing the good song (and occasionally the bad song).
