La Fête Sauvage

Performance
Friday, September 26, 2014 - Saturday, October 11, 2014
The Ledge Gallery, Arts Commons

Humanity with its wide range of mixed motives has made animals belong within its circle of intimate acquaintances. Up to a hundred animals of all sizes, and made of all sorts of materials are expected at La Fête Sauvage. The gathered fauna will ponder on humanity’s failure to grasp the distinction between animals as agents of nature and animals as symbols of culture. Rumours and reports of human’s relation with animals will be exchanged. La Fête Sauvage will offer a wide array of anecdotes involving human and non-human animals. To enrich the cacophony public open sessions will be scheduled at specific times over the course of the exhibition.
